And so I bid you all a fond farewell from SOS Towers, as I post my final Sunset before moving house. There was some suggestion (mainly from Dan) that as I'm leaving the Colne Valley and sliding over the hill into the Holme Valley, technically I should change the name of this blog. But Sunset Over Meltham just doesn't have the same ring to it, and at heart I'll always be a Slawiter. Besides, were I to stand on the roof of the new house and look due west, I'd still be able to see the Sunset Over Slawit... I just wouldn't actually be able to see Slawit itself. Then again, I couldn't actually see Slawit from the old house either, so really nothing's changed.
I'll be back next week with tales of painting and moving furniture in a heatwave, and hopefully news of PJANG #3. As a teaser for that, here's the full colour back cover by Dangerous Davey Metcalfe...
Wish me well.

11 rants and reactions:
I wish you well.
That was quite easy.
Oooh yes, I hope it goes well.
I moved in a heatwave and the removal men got very sweaty and smelly and dripped all over my wooden floor. There were little salty circles for months afterwards!!
I am wishing you the best well that was ever wished. In fact, so much so, I am welling up.
;-) Good luck.
Good luck mate - hope the move goes well
Fuck me, I hate moving house. One of the last tim4es was when my town had its biggest flood in over 50 years. We got everything in literally minutes before the hard rain set in, so that was lucky, then we picked up pizza ten minutes before all the roads were shut down. Work was cancelled the next day, it was one way to ring in the new house with my mate.
I hope your change of residence is not plagued with such bullshit, have a good one!
Good luck with the move. I'm with you in spirit. Until there's any heavy lifting involved.
Good luck with the shift; let us know when you're having the housewarming and I'm sure we'll all pop round...
Moving house is such a pain. Good luck and I hope you're happy in your new home.
Last time we moved house Mr Fishwife was overcome by "flu", and half the day consisted of me actually putting together the new bed, heaving the mattress onto it, and making it up (where the hell does one begin to look for fitted sheets and a duvet cover in unmarked boxes??) so that he could lie down in it. Oh, and putting up the curtains so he could draw them. My tact, charm and general loveableness were sorely tested.
PS Yes, I wish you well!
Wishing you well! (and a wishing well at your new home obviously, no home complete without one)
